DIY Home Decor: 'Jar of Hearts' (lemons too!)

These are just two ideas that are cheap, simple, yet really great for sprucing up a space! I personally love the fake-lemon idea...it really adds a pop of color without bringing out the paint-buckets or costing a fortune. You can find fake lemons at any craft-store or here (the fake lemon slices would look awesome too)!

For the second idea, I tried to take a more whimsical, girl approach! You can go many different ways with this idea because it's really all about you and your own personal taste. You can fill the little jars (I like to save old jam/honey jars) with little inspirational quotes on strips of paper, so that whenever you're feeling down you can just pick something out of the jar to boost your mood and confidence. To pump up the girly-ness factor,  you can even cut out little hearts (or buy from a craft store if you're lazy) and plop them in as well. Then to top it all off you can label the jar with 'hope' and tie it with a pretty ribbon of your choosing. I think this is a great home-made gift idea that is super low-budget, yet cute. It can be used to decorate a room and just give it a girly touch. You can even do this DIY idea with multiple jars (perhaps one labeled 'glitter' or 'love') and they can really add to a space!

Be creative and most of all- have fun!

....and since it's appropriate, I put Christina Perri's song, Jar of Hearts below, so you DIYers have something nice to listen to while you're crafting away!

I'm all about the fake lemons. Is that weird? I have some in bowls around my house.
