Today we're going to talk about the raw materials which comprise of Spongebob Squarepants' home: Pineapples. I don't know exactly how or when this fruit became less of a trend in the culinary world and more of a trend in the fashion world, but it intrigues me.

You see...in fashion there are always going to be trends that come in style, go out of style, then either remain in a closed-off fashion-trend-dungeon similar to that of Miss Truncuhbull's 'choakie' or come back. That is most probably why we see so many oversized blazers or billowy blouses covered in metal spikes without giving any hesitation. Thankfully Matilda saved them.

The pineapple, on the other hand, is most likely a newer trend, which I find to be perfect for summertime. If you're looking to summer-fy your home, be on the lookout for decorative pineapples or even something less permanent, pricey, and pretty tasty, like an actual pineapple. Don't forget pieces of swimwear or even graphic tees, which have been making the rounds recently. I personally say that a good iron-on-transfer DIY would be the smartest and cheapest way to go about this trend because of how short-lived I think it will be. Don't be afraid to play with different articles of clothing like the skirt above or even a canvas bag that could use some sprucing up.

If you pineapple DIY anything make sure to hashtag #shimmyshay so I can see your creations!
